Not necessarily.  You simply need to have a .bmp for
each graphic you use in Frame that isn't a .bmp.  And
your graphics should all be referenced, not embedded,
which is best practice in Frame anyway.  If you put
each .bmp in the same directory as the matching .gif
(or whatever other format), Mif2Go can find and use
them when you make the settings in User's Guide par.
5.16.2.1, "Converting referenced graphics before Mif2Go 
(best quality)".  Otherwise, Mif2Go can convert them
itself, but that's slower and limited to the screen 
resolution, as in par. 5.16.2.2, "Converting referenced 
graphics with Mif2Go (least effort)".

More precisely, since Word does not have a way of
specifying scaling in an IMPORTPICTURE field, the
only way of having Word import non-BMP (or WMF)
images, they will *never* be sized properly unless
they are coincidentally sized at 96 DPI in Frame,
as explained in par. 5.16.2.3, "Leaving graphics 
unconverted for Word (no scaling)".
