Eps problem

The difference in display quality between EPS and PDF only refers
to the display quality *in*FrameMaker*. Once you make a PDF,
there is no difference between the two, either on-screen or in print.
The choice is of no consequence to your customer, only to your
writers while they're working in FrameMaker.

And the best method for generating either EPS or PDF from
CorelDraw is to print to the Adobe PDF printer, which creates a
PDF directly. If you need EPS rather than PDF, you do a Save As
from Acrobat 7.0.

BTW, there are patches for Acrobat that bring it up to 7.0.8 rather
than 7.0.0.

My opinions only; I don't speak for Intel.

Has anyone tried this and then had their manuals professionally printed?

We've had the same problem as Mark for quite some time. Our current
setup
(FrameMaker 6.0p405 with Adobe Acrobat 7.0.0) displays EPS quite poorly.
Admittedly we're using CorelDraw 10.427 to generate the EPS from a
native
CorelDraw vector image; and we've always blamed CorelDraw's rendering
for
the poor display.

With more manuals going out as PDF-only, the display quality has become
more
of a concern than ever before. But if the print quality suffers because
of
improvements to the display quality - we gain nothing by changing the
way we
do things.
