automatically get rid of character tag in text?

Framers:

 

Is there any way to get rid of a character tag automatically? We have a
book that had character tags applied to every footnote reference number
and would like to change them all to the default font (i.e., remove the
tags) without having to highlight each one and change it to Default Para
Font in the character catalog window.

 

Using FM 7, Windows XP. Do not have FrameScript.
