Centered Figure Caption alignment

Tabs only work in the intuitively expected way in left-aligned
or justified paragraphs. Tabs do not function in centered or
right-aligned paragraphs. They only work when the text is
flowing in a left-to-right direction. It actually makes sense if
you think about it. I mean, how would you interpret a
left-aligned tab stop at 2" when the paragraph's text is set
to flow outwards in both directions from the center of the
page?

My opinions only; I don't speak for Intel.

Subject: RE: Centered Figure Caption alignment

Hi,

I have created a centre aligned figure caption with a tab in the autonumber after the autonumber sequence. I set up a tab stop but the spacing does not seem to take effect between the figure caption and the autonumber.

I repeatedly increased the value of the position of the tab stop to see an effect but this does not seem to work.

What do I not understand about doing this?

Thanks in advance

Rob
