Position Overview: 
Hand Held Products, Inc. is a leading innovator in the development of 
quality data capture products and solutions that consistently deliver and 
set industry standards for breakthrough technology, reliability, and 
durability.  As a Technical Writer, you will work with internal project 
management to author, update, and maintain product user documentation for 
our strategic business units. You will also coordinate translation of user 
documentation by working with translation agencies and in-country review 
teams. 

Required Background / Skills:   
The successful candidate for this position must have demonstrable 
expertise with Adobe Framemaker, Acrobat, and Microsoft Word.  You should 
also have experience in translation and localization of user 
documentation.  Familiarity with Excel, Photoshop, PageMaker, InDesign, 
and Illustrator desired.  Knowledge of ePublisher and/or RoboHelp is 
beneficial. Proven organizational and communication (verbal/written) 
skills are essential, along with the ability to communicate/instruct 
others on technical concepts in everyday terms. Furthermore, you must be 
able to work independently as well as interact with individuals from all 
departments/disciplines.  BA/BS in Technical Communications, English, or 
related discipline is required.  Candidates must also have 3 years of 
experience (5 years preferred) in the Technical Communications field, 
specifically in writing software/hardware user documentation and 
coordinating the translation of user documentation.
