Problems with special characters

Mathieu,

Alt+242 was the code for the "greater or equal than" symbol in the US
MS-DOS codepage 437.

This character is not available in the Windows Western European codepage
(1252) or the matching MS-DOS codepage 850.

The character is, however, available in the Symbol font.

To use this character in FrameMaker:

1. Choose the Symbol font
2. Press Ctrl + q and then 3
   OR type Alt + 0178

All the characters available with FrameMaker are listed in the online
"Character Sets" manual.

Dear all,

I have a tough time finding shortcuts for special characters.

On the Internet, I found an Ascii table which specifies ALT + 242 for
"greater or equal than" ; unfortunately, when I type that, an "equal" 
character appears.

I modified the regional options on my computer (set to French at first)
through the configuration panel but it did not change anything.

I have the same problem for the "different than" character.

Do you simply recommend using the Equation palette ?

Any help appreciated.
