Linda... go to <http://www.fm4osx.org/comp.html> and click on the 'detailed FrameMaker Feature Comparison' link for a download file that contrasts FrameMaker and InDesign.

All this is thanks to Paul Findon, who put a lot of work into finding FrameMaker 'alternatives' following the demise of FrameMaker for Macintosh.
