How to import Autocad2000 into FM?

What is the best way to import Autocad2000 into
FrameMaker. Current procedure used involves
unusual amount of work, i.e., convert cad file to
pdf, open in Illustrator and cleanup lines so
that they aren't fuzzy in destination FM pdf
file. Any suggestions are appreciated.
