Thanks! It works fine and is so simple. It has been quite awhile since I
used hypertext commands in FrameMaker so I am very rusty. I was also
having problems linking due to inconsistent usage of pathnames, which I
have since resolved. All links are working now!

To open a stand-alone PDF at the default opening page, use the following
hypertext marker:
message openfile file.pdf
Additional link/bookmark options are available with the
FrameMaker-to-Acrobat TimeSavers add-on through custom markers -- see
examples at "Define focused links to external PDFs or help files",
