Stuck on Figure Autonumbering in a Multi-Document Chapter

[Jim Owens]

How are you placing the figure numbers? Are they in a separate flow from 
the main flow?  I don't remember for sure if this affects autonumbering, 
but I have a sneaky feeling it does. I will check my old files and see.
