Donna, Jerilynn, and Friends-of-Frame,

Along those same lines, a division of our parent company decided to use ArborText and wanted us to use it as well. With the help of several FM experts and consultants who hang around this for fun :-) I created a spreadsheet with a detailed comparison of AT and FM. For our business purposes, FM won, hands down. It would have been very difficult, time-consuming, and expensive to implement AT, particularly since our primary deliverables are PDFs on a CD. While we are switching to structured FM and will eventually use a CMS to share XML files, FM still gives us the option of creating PDFs quickly and efficiently. Not so with AT. There are writers in my pubs dept who have used AIT and AT. Their recommendations to me can be boiled down to a single word: "Don't."
