Any way to set an absolute numbering scheme that is independent?

Hi Z,
If I understand what you're asking, it should be pretty easy. Add this to the para numbering style: <n+>. If you want it in it's own series, at this: x:<n+> where x is any letter that is not being used by another number scheme.

Subject: Any way to set an absolute numbering scheme that is independent?
Hi, all.
I am trying to set up a mechanism to use an absolute numbering scheme for certain paragraphs that is *independent* of the other numbering in the document.
For example, I may have a Heading 1 that increases 1, 2, 3, etc., Heading 2 that increases 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, etc. (and gets reset to .1 in each Heading 1), etc.
But, independent of these, I have some paragraphs (currently inside tables) that need to have a number that also auto-increments (like "Spec 1", "Spec 2", etc.) but *completely* independently from the chapter and section numbering! The reason I want to use *automatically* is obvious ... if I insert a paragraph into the document with that format, I want to have all the later ones after that point automatically get updated with the auto-number.
I looked for a Autonumber Format in Building Block that I could use for this purpose (in the Paragraph Designer), but no luck. Getting the letters "Spec " in there is easy, but there does not seem to be a numbering scheme that I can use for this ...
So ... is there any way to achieve the desired result?
Z
