How to automatically import index and cross-reference entries from Word 7 to FM 7.2 or 8?

I am importing word (.doc) files created by RoboHelp 7 into FrameMaker 7.2  on Windows XP 2002.
 
How can I automate the task of converting index and cross-reference entries from Word to FrameMaker 7.2 formats? I also have a FrameMaker 8 installed on another computer if that would allow advanced importing of index and cross-reference markers.
