API Writer (Contract)

Location: San Francisco, CA

Summary
The Adobe Platform Learning Resources team has an opening for a technical
writer who is proficient in rich Internet application development
technologies such as ActionScript, Flash, Flex, JavaScript, and Ajax. You
will write conceptual content, document APIs, and create code examples.

Responsibilities
  a.. Research, design, and write API documentation.
  b.. Create simple code examples to accompany API descriptions in the
ActionScript language reference.
  c.. Collaborate with other writers on the Platform Learning Resources team
to document and create code examples for the Adobe Flash Player runtime.
  d.. Deliver high-quality work on time.

Requirements
  a.. Knowledge of ActionScript, JavaScript, or some other object-oriented
language such as Java.
  b.. Three years experience documenting Web technologies for a developer
audience.
  c.. Proficiency in FrameMaker 7.x.
  d.. Excellent writing skills and demonstrated ability to write clear,
concise prose on a deadline.
  e.. Ability to work with editors and style guides.
  f.. Excellent verbal communication and listening skills.

Ideal Candidate
  a.. Familiar with ActionScript, Flash, JavaScript, and Flex.
  b.. Experience with JavaDoc or similar embedded documentation skills.
  c.. Experience with web-based documentation delivery.
  d.. Experience with XML, content management systems, and single-sourcing
content.
  e.. Experience with Eclipse or other Eclipse-based Integrated Development
Environments (IDEs).
