The syntax works fine as:

     message url brachyhelp at varian.com

with Acrobat converting the complete address as an active email link.

When the syntax includes support- as follows:

     Message url support-americas at varian.com

Acrobat converts the link to americas at varian.com, dropping the support-
portion of the address.

Is your <product> string a Frame variable, or literal text with
brackets, or something else?
Do the hypertext links work in Frame?
