I'm on FM 9 p230 in the TCS 2. I just get the Welcome screen once when I
start up, but once I've got a document up, it disappears until I close
everything. I can't remember if I read in the Help about tweaking the
maker.ini file having an effect on this.

Subject: FrameMaker 9 Welcome Screen
I've just recently loaded TCS 2 and gotten a good look at FM9. I really
like the new interface, even though it is different. I especially like
the ability to customize it and save workspace versions. However, I've
found the Welcome Screen to be *really* annoying. Usually, welcome
screens disappear once an app is running, but this thing remains. I
realize it offers some shortcuts (and a lot of Adobe marketing links),
but I can get those from my menus, just like any other Adobe
application. I wonder why Adobe did this with Framemaker, when none of
their other applications behave this way. Does anyone else dislike the
welcome screen?
