Does FM8 include Distiller as a separate executable?

I am not sure about FM 8. However, when you install FM9, you can skip installing Distiller separately. Instead, it will install a light-weight application, and you will be able to create a pdf.

I know it was its own executable in 7.x. I am being told that it is
included differently in 8.x. If someone knows the relationship between
Distiller and FM in 8.x, I would appreciate your explaining it to me.
