Does FM8 include Distiller as a separate executable?

We have both FM8 and FM9.  When the FM8 installer has finished installing
FM, it brings up a screen that asks you if you want to install the "PDF
Add-on."  It's Distiller, but the printer driver is called "Adobe PDF."  If
you have already installed Acrobat or are going to install it, do not
install the PDF Add-on from the FM installer.  The version of Adobe PDF in
Acrobat is better than the version that comes with FM.

I know it was its own executable in 7.x. I am being told that it is
included differently in 8.x. If someone knows the relationship between
Distiller and FM in 8.x, I would appreciate your explaining it to me.
