Has anyone used Subversion for FrameMaker "document control"?

I largely agree with Bodvar's comments.

 

One of the development groups I work with keeps all the FrameMaker files in an SVN repository and it has largely been trouble-free. The only problems have come when users have failed to check for locks before starting to edit a file or have failed to lock a file while they are working on it. Most of us use the SyncroSVN client, which does not display locks by default--you have to direct the client to check for locks before you start to edit, and not everybody remembers to do this every time.
