Very slow when printing either to Adobe PDF or Print To File

It would be helpful if you'd provide more system info: your OS(s), what
version(s) of Adobe Distiller (full version of Acrobat, the limited version
that ships with Frame; something else, and versions), RAM, verify that temp
free space is adequate, and so on.

Also... if you're using Print to File from Frame and specifying the Adobe
PDF printer (as you should), distiller would normally create the PS file and
distill it automatically. Your procedure sounds as if you're checking "Print
To File" to force a manual two-step process... which usually isn't needed.

Bottom line to check first would be whether the Adobe PDF printer is set as
your system default printer. You can do it at the system level or with a
SetPrint script from
http://www.sundorne.com/FrameMaker/Freeware/setPrint.htm that only affects
Frame.

And yes, of course a H-P Universal PS driver is likely to cause problems.
H-P used to only do PS emulation (nothing but problems), then then licensed
Adobe drivers and shipped them for years. Not sure what they're doing now or
what your IT guys installed.
