Difference Between Save As and Print to Adobe PDF

Oh, yes, Acrobat version 6.0 Pro. Sorry about that.

So Art, if I understand you correctly, the job options for Save As might
be different from the ones I get with Print to Adobe PDF?

In addition to Fred's correct advice, you don't mention what version of
Acrobat you're using. On the theory that you may have moved forward from
the version that shipped with FM 7...

According to Dov Isaacs, Adobe's PostScript, PDF, and Frame guru:
"To be as clear as possible, the "save as PDF" feature of FrameMaker 7
is not at all compatible with Acrobat 7, 8, or 9!"

Specifically to the point of your question, SaveAs PDF uses a set of
hard-wired job options that do a number of things that vary from FM
version to FM version so you can skip a few steps setting up your own
job options that are optimized for your work needs.
I think it's better and more predictable to not use the automatic mode
because it doesn't usually work well for me and it's next to impossible
to trouble shoot.
