Thanks to all who responded. My apologies for missing the previous thread in April with related information about this issue.

Thanks to Richard Combs for the manual workaround and to Rick for info about FrameScript options. I will consider these further if it turns out that the cross-references become absolutely necessary (at this time, they are nice to have but not show-stoppers).

Happy Thursday! :-)

Hi Jasmine,

This is a known issue with FrameMaker/Acrobat. I have a FrameScript script
that allows you to "unlock" the text insets before creating the PDF, which
effectively solves the link problem in the resulting PDF. After you create
the PDF, the script relocks the text insets. (The ability to unlock and lock
text insets is not exposed in the FrameMaker interface.) The cost for the
script is $80. If you don't have FrameScript, I can sell you a FrameScript
license and the script for $200. Please let me know if you have any
questions or comments. Thank you very much.

Subject: Frame X-REFs in Text Inset not Active in Book PDF

Hello Framers,

Structured Frame 8.0 (TCS1), XP, importing procedures written in text insets
into multiple books. I found today that any cross-references within the text
insets are not getting picked up as active cross-references in the book PDF.
Any other normal X-REFs are working fine. No X-REF errors when updating the
book in Frame. All X-REFs are updating correctly (all numbering is correct).
Just can't click these x-ref links in the PDF to jump to the destination
being referenced.

I tried looking at the PDF job options, but didn't see anything obvious. Any
ideas?

Thanks in advance!
