I hadn't thought to use the change-focus keyboard shortcut Shift+F7 -- I was
searching documentation for text about closing&docking pods&panels... Lief's
idea is a step in the right direction for me.
If anyone from Adobe is listening, please let me know if there *is* a keyboard
shortcut, or consider making the close-dialog-box keyboard shortcuts work for
pods&panels in a future update.

I second that. In fact, the keyboard shortcuts should function as toggles,
e.g., Ctrl-M: open ParaDesigner / Ctrl-M: close ParaDesigner etc., etc. Thus:
Want to get the focus back to the CharDesigner that's open but buried under 10
open windows? Ctrl-D (close) / Ctrl-D... (open with focus). - See what happens
when you press Ctrl-M in InDesign; press again. The resemblance to Frame must
very likely be entirely coincidental, but it's unfortunately limited to the
first Ctrl-M.
Cheers,
Mike
