I saw a similar sign in a Glasgow restaurant that said, "This door is alarmed". I thought, "How can you tell?"
Because English is used (quite) a bit differently in the UK, I kept chuckling about the signs I saw while I was in Scotland. I knew what they meant, but the North American meaning was quite different than the UK meaning.
