insert Greek symbols

I use a product called "PopChar" that works on the PC and Mac. It displays
all the characters in a given font. You just click on the character you want
and it is pasted into your application.

Special characters are accessible by typing the ALT key and the ANSI
code, then changing the resulting text to the Symbol font. I have a
printed list of the characters, but I am not sure where I got it. Mu
happens to be ALT + 077.

string or can I just insert a symbol, like the Greek mu?
