As a 'roundly ripped off Mac user' here, my balanced opinion is that by closing off historical upgrade routes - not just for FrameMaker, but for the Creative Suite apps too - Adobe has created much more negative marketing than the value of the few extra upgrade dollars it creates.

The sooner Apple buys the company, the better.
