Can you try the heroic open approach? In FM, create new empty file (you have
to file a blank file open to use this command), then press, one after
another Esc o H. In the File Open dialog box, select the bad file. If it
opens, immediately save it as a .mif.

Subject: Restore a corrupt file?

Hi -

I have corrupt FrameMaker 10 file. The backup is also corrupt, as is the
offsite backup. None will open.

I've tried Open Heroic and Wash Via MIF. No luck.

I have a version that's 3 weeks old but I'd really like to get at the
material in the corrupted file.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance -

Pat Christenson
