Condition on Building Blocks

Hi Gillian,

I do not believe that you can add conditions in building blocks.

However, what you are looking to do is possible when setting up the cross-reference mapping in your RoboHelp project. We do the same thing: have an auto number building block in our lists, tables, and figures for print output. However, we strip out the numbering in help and only display the title.

Depending on your version of RoboHelp, you'll find these settings in the Conversion Settings window. In RH9, here is how you get there: File > Project Settings > Import tab > Edit button in FrameMaker Document section > Cross Reference drop-down. Then, select <$paratext> from the RoboHelp Style drop-down for each FM cross reference.

Hope this helps,
Chris

Subject: Condition on Building Blocks

Does anyone know how to put conditions on building blocks? In Frame, I have my tables and figures auto-numbered with <chapNum> - <n+>. When I link those files into Robohelp, I don't want the building blocks to display. I just want the figure name and table name to display in the help.

Thanks,
Gillian
