Windows 7 compatilbility for FrameMaker 8

I'm FM8 on Win 7 64. I had NO problems until I tried to "Save as PDF". 
Then the problems went on and on. I remembering the install undoing 
itself, too. In the end I had to upgrade to Acrobat X.
I HATE Acrobat X and would go back to 8 in a heartbeat if it would still 
work.
