FM 9p255 only uses 25% of CPU no matter what

I am on Win7-64 and have very few problems except for one: If I update a book and book file that had been compressed in the directory, then the book file causes a crash. If I open it and save it alone, the problem goes away.

Win7 32 or 64? I've encountered many compatibility problems with the latter, would switch to 32 if it wasn't such a pain.
