Running page header/footer spacin question

I completely agree, Syed.
Even though my coworker has grudgingly compromised, he still claims the
complexity of individual chapters dictates whether or not to use running headers
in them.
And, as I said before, he claims your (and my) logic are -- his words -- "apple
pie and motherhood stuff" and don't mean anything.
And yes, I have been and continue to desperately scour the Net for another place
to go.

Subject: RE: Running page header/footer spacin question
Ø I told him the page formatting elements must be the same across all book
chapters (we call them sections), or else the book (manual) comes across looking
like a kludge of different stuff from different sources. He disagrees.
I am amazed that he can disagree! In my experience, the quality of a company’s
web site and its documentation is a _clear_ indicator.
If an organization cannot take the time and trouble to make sure their
documentation is accurate and has a “consistent” look-and-feel, I worry about
the same sloppiness in the rest of the company, their products and their
support.
Analogous to spelling errors in resumes – it gains candidates an _automatic_
black mark.
