Wildcards not working as expected: detect empty paras

Be careful, though, as it will find paragraphs that have table anchors,
marker anchors, etc.

I would have expected the wildcard expression '^$' to detect empty
lines/paras, but it does not seem to. Does anyone have a wildcard expression
that *will* find blank lines/empty paras?
