cannot generate PDF

Bodvar, Art, and many others

For whatever value it may have, and to thank all who helped,
the source of my Adobe PDF problem was:

- It was not one of the several imported graphics

- In the text of the document there was an opening “(“ in a variable
that somehow was coded as Vijaya font. It was not visible and, as a legal FM
font, caused no errors in the font pod.

- I saved the offending page and “bisected” the text until I found
the nugget that would not print.

- I assume there are some number of legal FM fonts that might give
the same error.

Thanks again,

Bill

Hi Bill,

The most usual thing here, as most have suggested, is that a corrupt graphic
on or next to the problematic pages is causing this. However, as the error
message mentions Encoding, I would also look at the fonts on these pages. Is
there any text (or an entity for holding text) on these pages that could be
using a corrupt font, not used earlier in the document or a letter from such
font not used earlier? You might have to look at the MIF file to see this.

Hope you find the cure. :-)

Thanks,
