Thanks for replying. I'll look at these comparisons, but I fear the PTB are pushing this change. I'm not sure Doc will be allowed to go a separate way.

I can see some benefit in being able to check in and check out files directly from Frame and also update dependent files. With our current system (which is very old) everything is manual.

SVN, however, may be an option.

Sorry to not give you answers to your specific questions, but you may want to consider changing to another system to make it simple.

I believe that with a small number of users, free on-line versions of Git hosted solutions are perhaps the best way to go.

For example, check out Github (www.github.com<http://www.github.com>) and BitBucket (www.bitbucket.org<http://www.bitbucket.org>) - BitBucket is free for up to 5 users with unlimited repositories (no file limits).
