How can I display Para Formats list

I agree with this approach. When I am in "typesetting mode", I keep both the paragraph and character catalogs open and maximized to the right of my working space.

You can keep the Paragraph Catalog open. Formats > Paragraphs > Catalog.

All that does is display a button that when pressed, drops down the list.
F9 does the same thing. I want the para list permanently displayed and expanded.

Hi, guys...I'm doing some reformat-intensive work and I find myself pressing F9 over and over to display and apply paragraph formats. When I select the format, the list goes away.
Is there a way of detaching the list and have it stay open?
