Dish soap, car wash, road work, bicycle chain, buggy whip, winter coat, tree branch, dog collar, reference manual....

My own preference is to name the thing for WHAT it is rather than FOR WHOM it is:

Quickstart Guide
Installation Guide
Reference Manual
Operating Manual
Instruction Manual
 
Or be even more specific:
 
Using the Zipchip 5000
Guide to the QZ190
IBM System/360 Principles of Operation
The Tektronix 465 Oscilloscope
