My own preference is to name the thing for WHAT it is rather than FOR WHOM it is:
Quickstart Guide
Installation Guide
Reference Manual
Operating Manual
Instruction Manual
Or be even more specific:
Using the Zipchip 5000
Guide to the QZ190
IBM System/360 Principles of Operation
The Tektronix 465 Oscilloscope
