Carol,Never noticed that it turns the file icon red. If it also changed the file name red would be great.Thank you for pointing out at least one way to visually pick out excluded files.

excluded files are positioned at the end of the book, so my way of
handling this might not work for you if you have excluded files
sprinkled throughout the files in your book. I create a Folder at the
bottom of the book and put all of my excluded files in it. I can
expand and collapse the folder to hide its contents. Framemaker
colors the icon for excluded files and folders red, so it is fairly
easy to spot them.
