About Us

Qualmark Corporation, headquartered in Denver, Colorado is the largest
provider of Highly Accelerated Life-Testing (HALT) systems and Highly
Accelerated Stress Screening (HASS) systems in the world.  Qualmark provides
HALT and\or HASS systems and services to the world's leading manufacturers
in virtually every industry, helping its customers improve the reliability
of their products, deliver products to market faster and reduce total
product lifetime costs.

We are seeking a Contract Technical Writer for our Denver, CO office who
will work closely with Qualmark personnel, including engineering and
documentation control, to document complex information and create
high-quality documentation. You should have a deep understanding of various
technologies and excellent written and verbal communication skills. All work
is done on an as needed basis, as determined by Qualmark.

Responsibilities:

.       Write, edit, and produce clear, accurate, and appropriate content
that is typically published in the form of Adobe Acrobat (PDF) files.

.       Take technical information and rewrite it in a way that customers
can understand and use. 

.       Interview subject matter experts and, where possible, use the
software to obtain the information necessary to develop accurate
information.

.       Determine where and what types of graphics are needed to help
clearly communicate information, including capturing screenshots and
inserting graphics from various sources.

.       Develop and maintain information architecture, templates,
conditional processing, and publishing scenarios.

.       Be a self-starter who can work independently, primarily off-site, to
produce high-quality documentation and meet deadlines, while paying
attention to detail.

.       Be able to visit Qualmark's north Denver location as needed to meet
with subject matter experts, see the hardware details, and observe the
software functions on working products.

.       Incorporate reviewers' suggestions and corrections, resolving
questions or conflicting information to ensure clear, consistent content.

.       Create informal documentation plans (schedule, time estimates, etc.)
at the beginning of each project.




 

Required Skills & Qualifications

.       Bachelor's degree in Technical Communication, English, or
Journalism. 

.       Minimum five years of experience creating written documentation for
hardware and software products.

.       Ability to quickly grasp technical concepts and make them easily
understandable in text.

.       Excellent written and oral communication skills, including
impeccable spelling and grammar.

.       Must be within reasonable driving distance of Denver, CO and able.

.       Strong working knowledge of the following or comparable software:

o   Adobe FrameMaker

o   Elmsoft FrameScript

o   Adobe Acrobat

o   Adobe Photoshop

.       Must submit writing samples of previous work to be considered (at
least five pages in length, including procedures).
