[Framers] FrameMaker 7.2 Not Responding on New PC

I had some problems with FM 7.2 on Windows 7. It would crash every now and then, mostly when I highlighted text. After installing it on a new computer with Windows 64-bit 8.1 I have had no problems. I run it in standard mode, no compatibility.

Did they switch you from 32-bit to 64-bit Windows? The latter is much less compatible with legacy software.

You might try XP Mode. It's a virtual machine running XP within Windows 7.

I've recently begun using the program on the new PC for the first time since initial setup of my fonts, Mif2go, and Character/Paragraph tools. FrameMaker seems to work normally except that 2-3 times a day I can pretty much rely on a "FrameMaker Not Responding" freeze-up hosing my work out of the blue.
