This is true, but in some companies, you have to get past an HR or agency screener first and that person may only have a list of requirements to look at. I remember talking to a lady who obviously knew nothing about technical writing, but who insisted that I had to have experience with a specific version of Snag-It. I tried to explain to her that it was just a screen capture program, but she had her list and insisted I have experience with Snag-It version whatever before I could get an actual interview.
