[Framers] Does FrameMaker Have Something Similar to Word's Embedded Files?

Typically files won't be accessible to the person who's reading a PDF,
so you'll get a nice clickable image that gives a "file not found"
error.

You could bundle the file with the PDF in a .zip archive.
