[Framers] Entering a nonbreaking space with Framemaker in Parallels

Hi, there,

for some time now it is not anymore possible for me to enter in
Framemaker a non-breaking space with the key combination ctrl-space.
This worked for me under Parallels 5, but now with Parallels 9 on Mac OS
10.9.5 it is not working anymore.
Is there some hidden configuration in Parallels or Mac OS which will
resurrect this key combination again?
