[Framers] Mapping Styles in FrameMaker

Hi Gillian...

You're probably best off creating a custom ExtendScript that maps the
old names to new names. You'd import the new template, then run the
script. You could run it on the book, so it processes all files at once.
You could even set up the script to import the template. This shouldn't
be a complicated script to write.

Alternatively .. I do have a plugin called PropertyMapper, which can do
the mapping, but it's probably overkill since it's designed to modify
lots of properties, not just the name. You may want to give it a try if
writing such a script would end up costing more than the plugin (which I
doubt).

Note that this plugin uses a DITA file as the format for the mapping
file. This doesn't mean that you have to be using DITA for your content,
you just have to be using Frame in structured mode if you want to be
able to edit the mapping file in Frame. (You can edit the file outside
of FM if you'd like .. but it's just easier to use structured mode.)

Feel free to use the plugin in trial mode to do the mapping .. if you
can get it done in 30 days, you're good to go! :-)

Cheers,
...scott
