[Framers] Frame/Distiller Question

I think the reason for installing FrameMaker after Acrobat is so that it will configure itself to use the Distiller instance you have already installed. If you do Acrobat after FrameMaker, Frame will be ignorant of the presence or location of the Distiller installed by Acrobat, so some of the "automatic" PDF generation methods (e.g., Save As PDF, Print to Adobe PDF) may or may not work reliably. But if you use an explicit method (e.g., print to PostScript and then distill the PS file to PDF, either directly or via a watched folder), either installation order should be fine since you will be invoking Distiller explicitly.

Hmmm ... my experience: as long as you stop FrameMaker from installing its version of Distiller, it does not matter when you install Acrobat.

So, I tend to do Acrobat last such that I have its latest files in place.

IIRC, it's Acrobat first, then Frame as a custom install without its version of Distiller.
