[Framers] Framemaker 5.5

Hi,

What are you using to host the VM?

Have you enabled the hypervisor to read usb devices?

I assume MyBackup is the name of your external usb device?

I don't know what actions you have taken when you "attempt to open
MyBackup [and] get a list of very old programs". Are you referring to
using the File>Open menu selection in FM5.5, or by double clicking on a
file icon in the File Explorer?

If that latter, then I doubt that FM5.5 would have the ability to
influence how the OS would respond to an onclick command.

I don't know what "very old programs" means, and that is relative anyway
(especially for some of us). I assume we are still talking about actions
taken in the VM.

In order to help, it may be better for you to remove the less relevant
commentary and focus on the actual problem. Reading carefully between
the lines, it appears you can't open FM files on the usb device from the
VM. Correct?

If so, then this may not be a FM problem, but a Windows/VM/hypervisor
problem.
