So, an excerpt from the introduction to the Sears, Roebuck and Company
catalogue, 1897:

 

"If you don't find it in the index, look very carefully through the entire
catalogue."

 

Wonder how that would go over in today's writing world? Think I should
preface all my indices with this disclaimer?
