[Framers] bizarre FM behavior

Hit send too soon - here's the whole story:

We saw a bizarre thing today with unstructured FM 2015, and we want to
figure out what happened. Maybe someone here has seen this?

We have a series of books about our support for different cloud vendors
(AWS, Azure, GCP, etc)

Each book includes:

   - Title Page
   - ToC
   - Preface
   - \path\Shared File 1
   - \path\ Shared File 2
   - Native File
   - \path\ Shared File 3
   - \path\ Shared File 4
   - \path\ Shared File 5

The shared files are in a different folder at path. They have content that
is common for our None of the files have been touched for a few weeks.

This morning, the writer opened up one of the books to make some updates,
and was shocked to see:

   - The file structure is flat. All the shared files are in each folder.
   - The book file points to the now-local files.
   - The local files are not used to make the book - they are present as
Text Insets inside a wrapper. For example, the intro chapter has the right
master page, etc, and it has Introduction at the top where the title goes,
and then in the main text column, the entire remote chapter is present as a
text inset, including the Introduction title. It's as if someone made a
decision to restructure the book using text insets, but never got around to
   deleting the first titles.

The writer originally set the books up using text insets, but that was long
ago, several versions back. The current books have the latest information,
so we know we're not looking at the old books.
This looks like something that might be done by a script, but I'm the only
one on the team running any scripts and I never touched these books.
Any ideas what's going on?
