[Framers] Perpetual Newbie Question #1

Unavailable font specifications can also lurk on reference pages, in master page layouts, in unused paragraph style definitions, in top row and first column specifications that are embedded in table format definitions, and even in graphics (vector image formats contain editable text along with the font specifications for the text). It is not necessary for an instance of the font to appear anywhere in the body pages; the warning appears whenever the font's name appears in any format specification, even if unused.

There has been no mention of the first "fix" that should be tried to stop unavailable fonts warnings:

  * First, in the FrameMaker Preferences dialog (that's where it used to be through at least FM9), *de-select* the "Remember missing font names" option. With this option enabled, FrameMaker will make substitutions for unavailable fonts that are for the current editing session only; when you save the file, the original, unavailable font names will be stored in the saved file. If you turn the option off, the file that you save will contain the names of the *substituted* font names and not the names of the unavailable fonts; in other words, the substitutions will be permanent.
  * Open the file. If you receive the unavailable fonts warning, just let Frame make its substitutions.
  * Save the file. With the "remember" option turned off, the substitutions should be saved.
  * Re-open the file and confirm the absence of the warning.
  * Remember to turn the "remember" preference back on, because under normal circumstances it is a very good thing.

I did as you suggested, but neither Liberation Serif nor Times (by itself)
appeared anywhere in the file.
