Hi John,

Open the FM file in which you to create the format, and then click anywhere
outside the document margins. Press CTRL + D to open the Character Designer,
and then under Commands, select Set Window to As Is. Now, change only the
property or properties that you want for the new tag, and then under
Commands, select New Format. In the New Format dialog box, leave New Format
selected, but clear Apply to Selection. Name the new character tag, and then
click Create. Voilà - you're good to go.

Subject: [Framers] Default Character Tags

OK...I hate to admit it.

I've always been "hit and miss" when defining a character tag that inherits
all the Paragraph attributes except for what I want to change.

For instance, I want a Character tag for use in a variable that only
bolds the text, but inherits the font family, font size, etc.,

What's the secret sauce?

Sorry for what must be forehead slapping simple.

Thanks
