[Framers] Compatability with FM11 non-structured files

Hi John,

Maybe a few aspects of the replies by Peter Gold and others went unnoticed.
Maybe my suggestion already fails at step 1, but would the be
following be an option?

#1
Ask IT for a spare computer with a local admin account. That computer
doesn't need network or internet access at any time.

#2
Install FM11 from the original install media and start a 30-day trial.
No internet connection is required for that. (I've been able to the
same on a virtual machine without internet access, using my original
Adobe Technical Communication Suite 4 DVDs.) FM appears to be fully
functional during the trial period.

#3
Save all your .book and .fm files in MIF 7.0 format and any other
formats that might be useful.

#4
>From here, you can take any route with the exported documents. If you
want to continue using FM for future edits, FrameMaker version 8 might
be a good option because it could be activated by phone. Ask Adobe
support if phone activation of FM8 is still available, and if yes,
whether they can migrate your existing FM11 license to FM8 given the
circumstances. An installer for FM8 installer is still available for
download from the Adobe website. Your IT department should find a way
to download and install FM8 for you.

Regards,
Jo H
